How to buy and transfer private car number plates

  you first need to choose one from our CHERISHED SEARCH DATABASE  Then Mon - Fri, 9-30 - 4pm you can secure your chosen number with a credit card part payment via our friendly sales team on  Tel: 08700 111 911  . We will then confirm the sale in by post within a day or two.

We can do the whole transfer for you to your vehicle through Swansea , this usually takes around 3 or 4 weeks but could take longer if the original donor vehicle needs inspecting or we are awaiting requisite documents. We can supply the cherished number on a government V778-V750 certificate so you can transfer up to 12 months later. (ideal gift or if you are awaiting delivery of a new vehicle).

If you are looking to purchase a low cost prefix registration e.g. J9 ABC costing around £250

 You first of all need to choose one from our  " MAKE YOUR OWN " DATABASE.  You can then purchase any time using our 100 %, 132 bit, secure automated on line ordering system. Please then allow 7 working days before receiving your certificate. 

To transfer this type of registration number, once you have received the V750 certificate you can then take/post it the same day with your V5 logbook and MoT (if applicable) to you local vehicle registration office or motor tax office (address & Tel No provided), they should transfer over the counter while you wait (if all details are correct), or alternatively you may hold the number on the certificate for up to 12 months if you wish (Ideal gifts to enclose inside cards).

The value of all of the above formats would increase with less numbers ( JW 55 may currently be worth around £10,000 & ABC 5 would be around £6000) also the older the number usually more expensive (similar to antiques &) Number plates have historically been investments, see this article from the financial times.
